Black Heart Cocktail
Updated May 10, 2017
oz. Crème Yvette™ liqueur
Fig (dried or fresh), for garnish
In a cocktail shaker, combine Crème Yvette™, vermouth, and blackberries. Muddle lightly to combine.
Add ice to the shaker and shake well for 20 seconds.
Chill a martini glass and strain drink into the glass. Add a dash of grenadine and top with champagne.
Garnish drink with a fig, sliced to look like a heart.
- If you can find fresh figs they'll look great on the glass, but a dried fig tastes great and works also.

More About This Recipe
- I really hope everyone out there in readerland has a great date planned for Valentine's Day. Whether you do or not, though, this cocktail should make an appearance. If you’re trying to impress, this is a sexy drink. It’s dark and fruity, but has enough of a kick so you know you’re drinking a drink. If you just happen to be relaxing by yourself, then what better way than to treat yourself to a special bottle of booze (the centerpiece of this drink)?Speaking of booze, let’s focus on Crème Yvette™. This stuff is somewhat pricy, but a bottle will last you awhile. It’s incredibly rich, fruity, and strong. You can drink it straight over ice, but in a cocktail like this it really shines. For fun, I like to garnish this cocktail with a sliced fig that sort of resembles a heart (stay with me here). If you could find fresh figs, it would really work well, but fresh figs are pretty tough to find in February so we’ll make do, right?Besides the Crème Yvette™, this drink only has a few ingredients. The dry vermouth cuts through some of the sweetness, and muddling some fresh blackberries into the drink really ups the fruit flavors. It’s a dark drink, but the champagne helps lighten it up and makes it feel very special.Drink up!
